CORD Friday Playlist #1

friday playlist-09 copy

This marks the beginning of a series of playlists we’ll be making weekly. Tracks we like, tracks you’ll love, some you might know, some you might not: one thing’s for sure, all the music you find here will make you do something: be that dance, smile, think, cry etc etc.

Kicking off with Bombay Bicycle Club who have become a household name over the last few years. Their new album is out on Feb 3 – pre-order it here and check out tour dates. Luna comes complete with a pounding, anthemic chorus, which have pretty much secured its place in the charts.

Phantogram recently featured on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games. Nowt like a movie soundtrack to build notoriety. This is their latest track, and just like the real thing, Fall In Love is utterly intoxicating.

Big haired, big voiced Ella Eyre is dripping in talent. and it won’t be long until 2014 is saturated in her sound.  She set her own benchmark way up in the clouds with her Deeper EP in December and her follow up, All About You is just as bloody brilliant.

Chromeo and Toro Y Moi – too many syllables to flow nicely from the tongue, but the flow of Come Alive – taken from Chromeo’s upcoming album – is smoother than freshly buffed gold.

You might need tissues for the last one. Danish singer Agnes Obel released her second album in September last year and it has the kind of elegant beauty reserved only for nordic artists .
