Last week the CORD gang headed down the Troxy in London for the Music and Sound Awards ceremony. Our work for the ITV Rebrand was nominated in the Branding and Title Sequence category so excitement was flowing as fast as the bubbles we were greeted with.
The room was a buzz of music supervisors, planners, producers, composers, (and bizarrely people on stilts) networking like a hive of bees, sucking up the free booze and pizza. Clearly people were there to chat, not to watch an award ceremony. In fact, I’m not even sure what time the awards started as the compare could hardly be heard over the noise of industry folk massaging each other’s egos.
Unfortunately we didn’t scoop the award. But losing out the most talked about show on the box – Downton Abbey – made the disappointment easy to swallow.
