CORD Friday Playlist #9

Minimalist pop act from Brooklyn, Wet have been soaking up lots of attention lately. And rightly so. Their stripped back – but fully loaded – songs give you a massive sugar rush, without the the crash.

The Kite String Tangle is 2014’s answer to Flume and Chet Faker. Keep an ear out for his genius production, creative sampling and flawless vocals.

Odesza continue to create the soundtrack to the planet earth’s summer. The north American duo have been producing big, shimmering beats for the past two years and will hopefully be coming to the UK on tour soon.

Disco champion Todd Terje normally associates himself with tempos suitable for cardio classes. But this mesmerising cover of Robert Palmer featuring Brian Ferry is more matched to yoga and meditation.

Move over Haim! New all-girl, all-attitude band from Canada The Beaches were a talking point at SXSW this year. Their bold, brash rock sounds, and grungy look fit perfectly into the fem-rock revolution.
