There are few reasons why we’d choose to spend the day indoors on the hottest day of the year:
1. Catching up on a week’s worth of Masterchef
2. Bed (preferably with someone else…)
3. The prospect of meeting people and discovering brand new music.
With 1 already completed and 2 unfortunately not applicable, point 3 was the winner – especially when it came in the form of the Hackney Record Fair. The first of (hopefully) many, the seven-hour event saw a spectacular amount of stalls, stands and vinyl crammed in the established Epic Dalston. As well as free peanut butter cups and a wad of cards (both the business and post kind), we walked away armed with a wealth of new independent and DIY records labels to catch up on, of which you can find a small selection below:
